New S-Series Additions Offer High Performance at Mid-range Price
Four new S-Series products premiered this month: Two digital RF signal generators—the SGD in 3 GHz and 6 GHz models—and two vector signal analyzers—the SVA in 6 GHz and 13 GHz models.

SGD Digital RF Signal Generators
The SGD-3 and SGD-6 both feature +13 dBm output power, with a +20 dBm option. They incorporate an IQ modulator with 300 MHz RF bandwidth. A dual channel AWG operating at up to 250 MS/s, with memory options up to 4 GB, offers faster waveform generation and the ability to store multiple signals. The embedded IQCreator® waveform generation tool sets up a modulation scheme and creates an AWG file using modulation templates. The SGD has low single sideband (SSB) phase noise of -135 dBc/Hz at 1 GHz offset, and fast frequency settling time of 100 µs.

SVA Vector Signal Analyzers
The SVA’s extended frequency range—up to 13 GHz—allows the SVA to analyze second harmonic performance of signals in popular communications bands. A wide maximum instantaneous bandwidth up to 90 MHz is ideal for both narrow- and wide-bandwidth communication systems. Peak signal power levels up +30 dBm can be input directly to the instrument. With a maximum sensitivity of -148 dBm/Hz, very low-level signals can easily be discriminated from noise. The noise floor at 2 GHz is -138 dBc/Hz at 10 MHz offset. Frequency settling can be achieved in 250 µs at frequencies up to 6 GHz.

TM500 TM500 LTE Test Mobile Completes Support For 3GPP Release 9
With the addition of eMBMS, the Aeroflex TM500 LTE Single-UE Test Mobile now supports all the headline features announced with Release 9 of the 3GPP LTE standard. The TM500 provides demodulation and decoding of eMBMS signals—including video—for both FDD and TDD versions of LTE, and will include dedicated measurements for low level debugging.

The DPS12 is a 12 channel analog source/measurement unit in a single slot AXIe format. It has voltage-forcing functionality along with an AWG and PMU Digitizers up to 200 KHz sample rate. The 12 pins are independently programmed and can be operated in any combination.
